It’s a jam packed happening weekend with amazing DJs from around the world. So what else should you expect for the Ultra weekend of the year? Here is a cheat sheet of things you need to know to make sure you get the Ultra experience.
With so many top acts, it’s easy to get lost in the music and forget when and where your next favorite DJ will play. Before you come to the festival, have a plan ready for who you want to see and take note of which stage and time they will be playing. It’s a busy festival ground so it’s always good to buffer your walking distance from stage to stage (and perhaps any food/drink stops along the way).
Lose the baggage
You definitely do not want to be partying the night away and dancing in the crowd with your big backpacks, or carrying random items in your hands – leave that free so you can put your hands up and dance to the music! Lose all the items you generally would have in your bag or pockets and go minimal with just your mobile, ID and some cash in a small bag or lanyard.
Bring the Essentials
Everyone loves a tan – but when you’re out under the scorching sun all day it can really damage your skin. Make sure to bring some sunscreen and don’t forget to bring your sunglasses too (plus it does make you look cool when you post a selfie at Ultra Singapore!) Oh, and as with all music festivals getting from one place to another is literally a walk in the park – bring some wet wipes so that you won’t have to run back to the food stall to wipe your hands clean (and for when you go to the toilets!).
Forget what you know, it’s back to the basics. Bring plenty of cash to last you throughout the day to purchase your food and drinks! It’s a busy festival ground and you absolutely do not want to be walking out of the event just to get some cash, only to find out the there is no re-entry! [insert any specific vendors who will be there?]
Enjoy the public transport
Forget your cars and leave them at home. Don’t waste your energy looking for a parking space – it will be jam packed! Take the public transport via bus or train (Singapore’s got one of the best in the world), and if you don’t feel like walking much you can always hail a cab or book an Uber/Grab to drop you off at the nearest drop off point.
Don’t burn out
It’s all a fun and happy scene at Ultra Singapore, but make sure you don’t burn out! Keep yourself hydrated throughout the day (and we mean H2O) and get some fuel from the food stalls. In between sets, you should also take some time to rest and chill out on the green lawn to gain back some energy for your next favorite DJ. Ultra Singapore will be so fun, but it won’t be fun if you end up having to go home early because you’re wiped out.
